NLP271A is the first course in the NLP MS Capstone series.
In this course, students will explore ideas and research papers that are related to the Capstone project areas.
Students will work in small teams.
Each team is expected to produce 3 project proposals during the quarter. Each project proposal will consist of a 3 page written paper and a slide presentation (of approximately 10 slides).
As intermediate steps, teams are expected to produce a large list of brainstormed proposals, a smaller list of 1/2 page proposals, and paper reviews to support them.
This is a discussion-based course, class participation is very important and will count heavily towards the course grade.
It is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:20 PM
